Roof Trusses in Ireland

The truss is the frame that holds a roof up, so it is worth getting right. We design engineered timber roof trusses to your spans and loads, have them made to order, and supply and fit them for new builds, extensions, and attic conversions across Ireland. Because we also fit the finished roof, the structure and the covering come from one roofer, not two. A family firm since 1969.

Why us

Why choose HP Roofing for roof trusses

Engineered to your build

Trusses are designed to your spans, loads, and roof shape and made to order, not pulled off a shelf, so they fit the building and carry what they need to.

Structure and finish from one roofer

We can supply and fit the trusses and the roof covering that goes on top, so the whole roof is one job with one point of contact, not a handover between trades

Fifty years behind the design

A family firm since 1969. We know what the structure has to carry and how the finished roof behaves on top of it, which informs the trusses we recommend.

The structure

What is a roof truss?

A roof truss is the engineered timber frame that gives a roof its shape and carries its load, the rafters, ties, and webs joined into one rigid structure, usually with galvanized steel plates at the joints. Most modern roofs use prefabricated trusses: they are designed to the building’s spans and loads, made to that design off-site, then lifted into place, which is faster and more precise than cutting a roof on-site timber by timber.

Good trusses are the difference between a roof that sits true for decades and one that sags or needs costly remedial work later. We design, supply and fit roof trusses for new builds, extensions and renovations across Ireland, for homeowners, self-builders and other contractors.

How we work

Our roof truss process

It starts with your drawings and the spans involved, so we understand what the roof has to do. We produce an engineered truss design, agree on a fixed price in writing, and have the trusses made to order to that design. They are then delivered to the site, and our team lifts and fixes them, ready for the roof covering, or we supply them for your own builder to install. Either way you get a structure designed for the job and a clear, scheduled program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Direct answers from an experienced, hands-on roofing professional.

A roof truss is the engineered timber frame that gives a roof its shape and carries its load, the rafters, ties, and webs joined into one rigid structure. Most modern roofs use prefabricated trusses, made to a design and lifted into place.

For most builds, yes. Prefabricated trusses are faster to fit, more precise, and usually more economical because they are made to an engineered design off-site. A traditional cut roof still suits some complex or heritage roofs, and we will advise on the right approach.

Yes. Attic or room-in-roof trusses are designed to leave usable space inside the roof, so you get a habitable loft as part of the structure. They are designed for your layout and the loads involved.

We design, supply, and fit trusses, and we can also supply them for self-builders and other contractors to install. Delivery is arranged to suit the site and the program.
