PVC single-ply is the modern flat roof: one tough, flexible membrane, with the joints hot-air welded into a bond as strong as the sheet itself. No layers, no open flame. It’s light, long-lasting, and quick to lay, which makes it a favorite for larger flat roofs, commercial buildings, and extensions.

Single-ply does the job differently than felt. Instead of built-up layers, it’s one flexible sheet, and the way the joints are made is what makes it last.
The joints are joined with hot air, not adhesive or tape, so they weld into one piece as strong as the membrane itself. No glued joints to peel or fail.
Single flexible waterproof sheet, not built-up layers like felt. It is light on the structure and quick to lay, even over a large commercial roof or a modern extension.
Unlike torched felt, single-ply is welded with hot air, so there’s no naked flame. That means it can go on roofs where torching isn’t allowed.
New single-ply roofs, re-covers, and repairs, all welded watertight from the open field of the roof to the edges. One membrane, one welded surface, no seams left to chance. Each single-ply job can cover:
Existing single-ply roofs get weld-repaired in their own system rather than patched with whatever is on the van. You get a written fixed price in your hand before any work, with workmanship cover behind it.
Most roof problems start small and quiet, then get expensive. If you have spotted any of these, it is worth getting them looked at before the next downpour.
We come out, get on the roof, and find exactly what is wrong.
You get a clear, itemised price. No call-out charge, no pressure.
Our own crew carries out the work, tidily and on the agreed date.
We show you what we did and stand over the work.
Welded sheet is only half the job. The other half is fixing it down right for your roof and exposure.
The membrane gets screwed down through plates inside the seams. Fast, secure, and right for Dublin roofs.
The sheet gets glued across the whole deck instead, with nothing piercing it. Right for exposed and awkward roofs.
Wind, exposure, and the deck underneath decide it, not preference. We spec fixing method at free survey.
The seams get hot-air welded the same whichever fixing holds it down, so the waterproofing never depends on the fixing.
A few recent repairs around Dublin. Real jobs, real homes.
Single-ply costs more than torch-on felt, but it lasts longer, it’s lighter, and it goes up fast on a big roof, so on larger and commercial jobs, it often works out the better value. What moves the price is the area, the membrane and system.

It’s a flat roof made from one layer of flexible PVC membrane, with the joints hot-air welded together into a single watertight skin. It’s light, long-lasting, and a step up from traditional felt.
They’re welded with hot air, not glued or taped. The weld fuses the sheets into one piece that’s as strong as the membrane itself, so there’s no adhesive joint to peel apart over time. That welded seam is the heart of why single-ply lasts.
It lasts longer, it’s lighter, and there’s no open flame to lay it on, but it costs more. Felt is the better value on a smaller roof or a tight budget. Single-ply comes into its own on larger and commercial roofs. We’ll be honest about which suits yours. See torch-on felt for the comparison.
Trocal is a well-proven PVC single-ply system and the one we fit most. Like other quality single-ply systems, it’s welded, long-lasting, and backed by a system guarantee. See our tropical page.
