The problem

Roof emergencies we deal with

If water’s coming in or the roof has been damaged, the first job is to stop it getting worse. Here’s what we get called out to most.

Storm damage

Slates blown off, a lifted ridge, broken flashing, or a branch down on the roof after high winds. We secure it and cover the gap before more rain gets in.

Sudden leak

Loose or fallen slates, a sagging roof section, or storm debris that could still come down. We make the roof and the area below it safe fast.

Unnsafe roof

Cracks spreading, visible sagging, or slates shifting in wind mean the roof needs looking at before anyone goes near.

WHEN YOU CALL

What Happens After Your Call

The order matters in an emergency. Make it safe, stop the water, then fix it properly, because a botched permanent repair rushed in the rain fails twice. Every emergency call-out we take covers:

  • Getting out to you as a priority, with the roof and the area below it made safe first.
  • Covering the damage with sheeting to stop the water getting in, before anything else gets discussed.
  • Securing or replacing blown and slipped slates, along with lifted ridge tiles and broken flashing.
  • Storm debris cleared off the roof before it comes down on someone or something below.
  • Flat roof emergencies handled too, along with leaks around chimneys and valleys.
  • Photographing all the damage properly, so you have a dated record for any insurance claim.

Once the roof is safe and the water has stopped, you get a written price for the permanent repair. Nopressure on the night and no decisions made while it is still raining.

What it costs

Emergency roof repair pricing in Dublin

Emergency call-out is usually two jobs: making the roof safe now, then the permanent repair after. The make-safe is generally a smaller job, and what it costs depends on the damage and how easy the roof is to reach.

We’ll be clear about the cost before we start, and give you a written price for the permanent repair once we can see it properly. Use the calculator for a guide on the full repair.

What affects the price

  • How much damage there is and how urgent
  • Access, and whether scaffolding is needed
  • The make-safe now vs the permanent repair after
  • Material: slate, tile or flat roof
  • Time of the call-out
