Metal Roofing in Dublin

Metal sheet roofing is the practical, good-value way to cover a shed, garage, outbuilding, extension, or commercial unit. Strong, light, and quick to fit in corrugated or box-profile steel, galvanized or in a color to suit. We fit it properly, with the condensation control and flashings that stop a sheet roof sweating or leaking. A family firm since 1969.

The options

Which metal roof sheet?

Metal sheets come in a couple of profiles and a choice of finish. The right mix depends on the building, the look you want and the budget.

Corrugated

The traditional rounded rib. Light, cheap, and strong, the classic choice for sheds, farm buildings, and outbuildings.

Box profile

A squarer, deeper rib that’s a bit stronger and looks more modern. Popular on extensions, garages, and commercial units.

Galvanised or coloured

Plain galvanized steel is the cheapest and very long-lasting. Coated steel adds a color finish and a longer life before any repaint, in a range of colors.

What it costs

Metal roof cost in Dublin

Metal sheet roofing is one of the cheaper ways to cover a building, and it goes up fast, which keeps the labor down too. What moves the price is the area, the profile and finish (galvanized is cheapest; colored coated steel costs a bit more), the condensation backing and insulation, the flashings, and the access. Use the calculator for a guide, then book a free survey, and we’ll put a fixed price in writing.

What affects the price

  • Roof area and the building type
  • Profile and finish: galvanised or coloured
  • Condensation backing and any insulation
  • Ridges, flashings and accessories
  • Access, and stripping any old roof first

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

Direct answers from an experienced, hands-on roofing professional.

Corrugated is the traditional rounded rib: light, cheap, and great for sheds and farm buildings. The box profile has a squarer, deeper rib that’s a bit stronger and looks more modern, so it’s popular on extensions, garages, and commercial units. Both do the same job well, and the choice is mostly about look and budget.

Only if it’s done badly. We fit it over an anti-condensation backing or insulation, so it doesn’t drip on the inside, and that same layer cuts the rain noise right down. The detailing is where a metal roof is won or lost.

It can go on a house and often does on extensions and modern designs. For a smart architectural look on a home, a standing seam roof in zinc, aluminum, or copper is usually the better choice, and we fit that too.

Yes, we resheet tired metal roofs. If the old roof is asbestos cement, that needs specialist licensed removal first, which we’ll advise you on before any new sheeting goes up.
