Roof repairs in Dublin come down to a handful of jobs: slipped and cracked slates, a split lead valley, failed chimney flashing, a leaking flat roof, storm damage. Most start small and get expensive if they are left.
We inspect the roof properly, find where the water is actually getting in, and give you a written fixed quote before anyone starts work. Repairs are carried out by our own directly employed crews, not subcontractors.

Most roof problems show up inside first. A ceiling stain, a musty attic, or daylight through the roof boarding.
Slipped, cracked and missing slates, re-bedded ridge tiles, lead valleys renewed. On older Dublin roofs the nails rust through first, called nail sickness.
Membrane splits, ponding water and failed laps on torch-on felt, PVC single ply, fibreglass and asphalt. Flat roofs need a different fix to pitched.
New lead apron, stepped sides, back gutter and soakers where the stack meets the roof. Dublin’s most common leak point, with blocked gutters second.
After a storm the priority is stopping water getting in, not finishing the job that day. We make the roof safe, cover the exposed area, and come back for the permanent repair once the weather allows and the full extent of the damage is clear.
If you are claiming on insurance, we photograph the damage as we find it so you have a record to submit. Irish home insurance generally covers sudden storm damage but not gradual wear and tear. For urgent work or an active leak, call 01 453 3366.
Most roof problems start small and quiet, then get expensive. If you have spotted any of these, it is worth getting them looked at before the next downpour.
We come out, get on the roof, and find exactly what is wrong.
You get a clear, itemised price. No call-out charge, no pressure.
Our own crew carries out the work, tidily and on the agreed date.
We show you what we did and stand over the work.
Nobody can price a roof leak honestly without seeing it. For a rough Dublin figure before you book, use the Roof Cost Calculator.
€200 to €450. Usually a half-day on a standard semi. Scaffolding on a two-storey adds €600 to €1,200.
€300 to €1,200. Re-bedding loose ridge tiles at the lower end, renewing a split lead valley at the upper.
€400 to €900. New lead apron, stepped sides and back gutter, with repointing where the mortar has gone.
From €800. Priced once the roof is safe and the full damage is clear, with rafter work included.

John McEvoy started HP Roofing in 1969 with three roofers. Fifty-seven years later the same family firm is still working on Dublin roofs, from period slate in the city centre to concrete tile in the suburbs. Our crews have also worked on RTÉ, Trinity College Dublin and The Shelbourne Hotel.

No call-out charge, no obligation. We’ll tell you honestly whether it needs repairing or replacing.
It depends on how urgent the problem is and where in Dublin you are. Active water ingress is prioritised over routine work. Call 01 453 3366 and we will tell you honestly when we can get to you.
We can usually make a roof safe and cover the exposed area in wet weather. Permanent repairs need dry conditions to bond and seal properly, so those are scheduled once the weather allows.
If the covering is sound and the problem is localised, repair is almost always the better spend. If the same roof has needed repeated work, or the battens and felt are failing across large areas, a new roof usually works out cheaper over time. We will tell you which after the inspection.
Yes. We work on felt, PVC single ply and asphalt flat roof systems as well as slate and tile. Flat roof repair has its own page.
Book a free, no-obligation inspection and we will tell you honestly what your roof needs.
